About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Mentor for Students with Special Educational Needs to join our team at Greenford High School. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting students with special educational needs to overcome their barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding and supporting students in our Learning Support Department, working closely with the SENCO to develop targeted interventions and strategies to improve student achievement, progress, conduct, and character development. You will also be accountable for the progress, conduct, achievement, and learning of students, communicating effectively with teachers, key workers, and parents to ensure a seamless support system.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized support plans for students with special educational needs;
  • Monitoring student progress and intervening to address any obstacles to learning;
  • Liaising with teachers, key workers, and parents to share knowledge and strategies to support students;
  • Providing emotional literacy programs and delivering interventions to equip students with essential skills to regulate their behavior;
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and updating relevant stakeholders accordingly;
  • Fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive school environment.
