Job Title: SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

About the Role

GSL Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in the Bournemouth area. The successful candidate will work closely with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop customised intervention plans for a Key Stage 1 student with complex SEN needs and behaviours.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing effective SEN strategies
  • Provide individualised support to the student facing communication challenges
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop customised intervention plans
  • Foster the overall well-being of students and contribute to a positive school ethos
  • Provide a nurturing environment for children who are struggling to keep up with schoolwork
  • Manage low-level behaviour and attachment challenges among students
  • Provide feedback to teachers as needed after working with pupils and leading interventions
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with their needs
