Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced British Sign Language (BSL) instructor to join our team at Deafway. As a BSL instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality BSL lessons to staff and external students, while upholding Deafway's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Training: Plan, coordinate, and deliver BSL Level 1 and Level 2 classes, including two 2-hour lessons during office hours and one 3-hour lesson in the evening.
  • Qualifications and Registration: Register your qualifications with Signature and liaise with them in relation to all course requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Keep records of all training undertaken, including numbers of people trained, assessment/exam pass rates, and other relevant information.
  • Confidentiality and Health and Safety: Ensure confidentiality of information and assist in promoting and maintaining your own and others' Health and Safety and security as defined in the Health and Safety Policy.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively as part of the team, ensuring effective working relationships and completing mandatory training provided by Deafway.
