About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Academic Skills Tutor to provide one-to-one support to students with SpLD. As a member of our library team, you will work closely with academic colleagues and Student and Academic Services staff to ensure that our students receive the best possible support.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support to students with SpLD, helping them to develop the skills and strategies they need to succeed in their studies. This will involve working closely with students to identify their individual needs and developing personalized learning plans to support their academic progress.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one support to students with SpLD, helping them to develop the skills and strategies they need to succeed in their studies.
- Work closely with academic colleagues and Student and Academic Services staff to ensure that our students receive the best possible support.
- Develop and deliver small group sessions and workshops to support students with SpLD.
- Collaborate with the Learning Experience Manager and other library staff to develop and implement new initiatives to support students with SpLD.
- Contribute to the development of the library's services and resources to support students with SpLD.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a professionally accredited approved SpLD teaching qualification and be a member of the professional body outlined in the DfE mandatory qualification criteria for the role of Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support - Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, academic colleagues, and other staff members. A strong understanding of the needs of students with SpLD and a commitment to providing high-quality support are essential.
