Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at NYKays Recruitment Ltd. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special needs in a school setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with ASD on a 1:1 basis
  • Providing day-to-day support to teachers in teaching and learning
  • Supporting colleagues in undertaking personal care related tasks
  • Working effectively alongside other teaching and support staff to maintain a safe and productive work environment
  • Adhering to the school's policies including Safeguarding, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, and Health and Safety

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting children with ASD and associated challenging behaviors
  • Experience working as a Special Needs Teaching assistant with special needs children for at least 3 months
  • A commitment to working with children with special educational needs
  • Ability to manage confrontation and challenging behavior
  • Ability to adapt and respond to children's needs and plan accordingly
  • Must be an energetic and enthusiastic team player
  • Must have patience
  • Be proactive
  • Ideally have good experience working one to one as a teaching assistant
  • Work well in a team
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Have a passion for working with children with Special Needs

Application Requirements:

  • You must have legal right to work in the UK

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum based on location and experience.
