Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operational Manager to support the Directorate Manager - Specialist Services within our exciting portfolio. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering operational excellence and will be responsible for supporting the Directorate Manager in the operational delivery and performance management of Specialist Directorate national and local performance targets and objectives.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Support the Directorate Manager in the operational delivery and performance management of Specialist Directorate national and local performance targets and objectives.
  • Support the development and improvement of clinical and administrative services, including specific responsibility and accountability for certain aspects of performance.
  • Support service improvement through analysis of data and undertaking capacity and demand analysis of services to support delivery of targets for the Directorate and overall Division.
  • Manage the Assistant Directorate Support Manager within Urgent Community Response Service and support teams within the Specialist Directorate.
  • Manage the Assistant Directorate Support manager and any other delegated management, ensuring service objectives are met by the specialty teams.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised post-graduate management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of sound intellectual ability and ongoing personal development.

Desirable

  • Recognised post-graduate management qualification or equivalent experience.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of dealing with difficult operational issues.
  • Understands and is able to interpret national policy in relation to performance targets and translate to the local level.
  • Up to date with relevant national guidance on NHS management issues.

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise.
  • Handling sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well-developed analytical skills.
