Job Overview

This is a unique chance to become part of a successful team of engineers working on a diverse range of marine, coastal, and inland waterway projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop marine structures, including quay walls, jetties, dolphins, slipways, berthing, and mooring systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to achieve project goals.
  • Communicate technical information to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.
Essential Requirements:
  • Chartered or near-chartered engineer with a strong desire to develop professional qualifications.
  • Proven technical experience in marine structure design.
  • Proficiency in FE modeling using software such as STAAD Pro, LUSAS, or SAP 2000.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of buildability and buildable design principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of maritime standards and guidelines, including BS6349 and PIANC.
Desirable Skills:
  • Design experience with lock gates, heavy-duty pavements, breakwaters, and linkspans.
  • Coastal engineering design and assessment expertise.
  • Knowledge of marine geotechnics and temporary works design.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, including Optimoor, Wallap, and Plaxis.
Qualifications:

MEng Civil Engineering or equivalent degree (2:1 minimum)
