Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Expleo. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for leading the commissioning of mechanical fluid systems on defense marine vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commissioning of mechanical fluid systems, including hydraulics, fuel systems, compressed air, fuel oil, and ventilation systems.
  • Perform detailed testing and validation to ensure all systems meet required performance and safety standards.
  • Analyze system performance and optimize operational efficiency during the commissioning phase.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning and test reports, technical documentation, and performance records for stakeholders.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues that arise during testing or operation.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with marine and defense industry standards.
  • Liaise with design teams, construction teams, and operations to ensure smooth handover and integration of systems.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients during the commissioning phase.
  • Support training for operational staff on the proper use, maintenance, and operation of commissioned systems.
  • Conduct inspections and quality control assessments to ensure systems meet all applicable standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in relevant fields such as hydraulic systems, fuel systems, or marine engineering are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of marine mechanical fluid systems, including hydraulic, fuel, air, fuel oil, and ventilation systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in high-pressure environments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in testing, validation, and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple commissioning projects simultaneously.
  • 5+ years of experience in marine commissioning or maintenance, particularly in defense/naval projects.
  • Familiarity with military standards for mechanical systems in defense vessels.
  • Knowledge of commissioning tools, CAD software, and marine-specific diagnostics.
