Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at West London NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people in a schools-based setting, providing early intervention mental health support.

About the Role

This role involves embedding the Whole School Approach (WSA) through co-facilitating workshops for parents and staff, delivering targeted and universal groups to primary and secondary school pupils, and providing evidence-based interventions where possible.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable post-registration experience in mental health, with a strong understanding of child development and mental health needs. They will be able to communicate complex information effectively and build constructive relationships with warmth and empathy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embedding the Whole School Approach (WSA)
  • Delivering targeted and universal groups to primary and secondary school pupils
  • Providing evidence-based interventions where possible
  • Supporting service evaluations and audits of interventions offered within the team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registered on the NMC register, parts RN3, RNMH or RN4
  • Mentorship/teaching and assessing qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A thorough understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people
