About the Role

We are excited to announce a pivotal role at the University of Leicester, a dynamic and expanding institution. Directed by Professor Jeremy Howick and part of the Leicester Medical School, led by Professor Simon Gay.

As an Academic Research Fellow, you will design, deliver, and ensure the quality of research in medical education, focusing on empathic healthcare.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high-quality research in medical education, with a focus on empathic healthcare.
  • Contribute or lead high-quality research projects, securing external funding and overseeing data governance.
  • Mentor PhD students and junior researchers, supporting their professional development and public engagement.
About You

We seek a highly motivated individual with a PhD or significant equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.

  • Emerging track record of delivering research projects on time (Grade 7).
  • Proven track record of delivering research projects on time (Grade 8).

You will possess:

  • Experience in developing research models and methods.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
  • Experience in securing research funding and managing budgets (Grade 8).
  • Desirable qualities include experience in project management, empathy research, and advanced analytical techniques.

The estimated salary for this position is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
