Senior Planning Engineer

We are partnering with a global energy business to appoint a Senior Planning Engineer on a permanent staff basis.

Job Overview

  • Responsible for planning activities on UK projects and tenders.
  • Develop and improve the planning department, its systems, procedures, and junior personnel.
  • Ensure systems, processes, and reporting requirements for internal and external clients are in place and adhered to, in line with the UK planning procedure.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and develop the company planning procedure and supporting processes.
  • Supervise, mentor, and assist Planning Engineers and Planners.
  • Monitor department output in line with deadlines and manage team workload to achieve these.
  • Monitor department output from a quality perspective.
  • Develop budget, tender, and project schedules.
  • Interface with client planning personnel in all relevant matters.
  • Develop project planning reporting packages for internal and external purposes.
  • Monitor and report progress on UK projects and engineering studies.
  • Interface with key subcontractor personnel and ensure they provide the correct level of reporting.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project planning documentation, including contract control schedules, detailed offshore schedules, as-built schedules, and project change registers.
  • Engineer changes to project notification windows, project LDs, and other relevant planning information.
  • Issue project managers with project close-out proformas to ensure feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Significant experience in planning.
  • Strong planning competencies related to oil and gas.
  • Oracle Primavera P6 certification and experience.
  • Microsoft project experience.
