Job Title: Acute Care Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse to join our Integrated Tissue Viability Service at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. This is a temporary 12-month contract to cover maternity leave, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in wound care.

About the Role

As an Acute Care Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating nursing care for patients with non-complex wounds, lower limb wounds, or follow-up reviews for patients with complex wounds. You will work closely with the Tissue Viability Team to develop your knowledge and skills in wound management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan nursing care for patients with wounds, including non-complex and complex wounds.
  • Implement and amend plans without direct supervision, reporting back to senior members of the Tissue Viability Team as needed.
  • Develop your knowledge and skills in wound management, including negative pressure wound therapy, larval therapy, and compression therapies.
  • Support the Leg Ulcer Clinic Coordinator in the triage, appointment, and administration of the leg ulcer clinic service.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with post-registration experience in a hospital and/or community setting.
  • Post-registration training or course attendance in relevant fields, such as leg ulcer management or tissue viability.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of general health and social care needs, as well as wound care principles.
