About the RoleThe post holder will work alongside a Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders, supported by a specialist multidisciplinary team. Your key responsibilities will include providing psychiatric and medical assessments of adults with eating disorders, prescribing and monitoring medication, and supporting delivery of services according to NICE guidelines and policies.
You will undertake physical examinations, order investigations as necessary, and provide psychiatric input including assessment and treatment of comorbid mental health disorders. The role requires liaison with statutory and non-statutory agencies concerning the treatment and management of patients, as well as consultation with other members of the multidisciplinary team regarding risk management.
Clinical Duties- To provide psychiatric and medical assessments of adults referred to the eating disorder service.
- To prescribe and monitor medication, and support delivery of services according to NICE guidelines and policies.
- To undertake physical examinations and order investigations as necessary.
- To provide psychiatric input, including assessment and treatment of comorbid mental health disorders.
- To liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies concerning the treatment and management of patients.
- To consult with other members of the multidisciplinary team regarding risk management.
This is a Band 8A post, offering a competitive salary of £104,944 - £122,714 per annum. You will also receive a range of benefits, including access to ongoing professional development opportunities and a comprehensive pension scheme.
