Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of support staff, ensuring high standards of care and support are delivered consistently.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans, ensuring that they meet the needs of each service user.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including safeguarding and health and safety standards.
  • Manage shifts effectively, including overseeing rotas, sleep-ins, and emergency cover to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Provide hands-on support to the team during challenging situations, offering guidance and advice on best practices in handling behaviours associated with EBD/LD.
  • Act as a key point of contact for families, external agencies, and other stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, documenting all interactions and interventions with service users as required.
  • Identify training needs within the team and assist in the delivery of training sessions to support staff development.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working in a similar setting, with a focus on Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and/or Learning Disabilities.
  • Proven experience in supervising or leading a team, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or above).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, service users, and their families.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including sleep-ins and weekends as required.
