About the Role

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Consultant Rheumatologist to join our dynamic department. As a Consultant Rheumatologist, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive service in Rheumatology, including out-patients, day case procedures, and in-patient referrals requiring rheumatology specialist input.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a service in Rheumatology with responsibility for out-patients, day case rheumatology procedures, and in-patient referrals requiring rheumatology specialist input.
  • Provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues in respect of periods of leave.
  • Participate in medical audit and research as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.

Person Specification

We are seeking a Consultant Rheumatologist who meets the following criteria:

  • Full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.
  • Eligible to be included on the Specialist register - CCT expected within 6 months of interview date.
  • MBBS or MRCP Primary medical qualification.

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Higher Medical Degree.
  • Subspecialty training or equivalent, such as in connective tissue disease.
  • Training in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
