Job Title: Head of Product Management
Job Summary:
Proximity Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Product Management professional to lead the product division of a global building materials business in the West Midlands. As the Head of Product Management, you will be responsible for developing a portfolio and team, as well as supporting strategic cross-functional projects within the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Develop and deliver the strategy for new product and product improvement introductions, including robust end-to-end commercial assessments for projects.
- Lifecycle Analysis: Review and understand the historical context of product lifecycles for the value-added product portfolio, reconcile current product performance, and develop future product roadmaps.
- Portfolio Management: Work with commercial colleagues to track the performance of the product portfolio, make changes to the delivery plan, and challenge and initiate activities to maximize sales and enhance profitability.
- Market Awareness: Understand current and anticipated market dynamics for the product portfolio in collaboration with marketing and commercial teams to identify and anticipate market opportunities and challenges.
- Value Proposition: Craft the value proposition and narrative for target product portfolios for identified target markets and key audiences, working in collaboration with CX lead, sales team, and marketing managers to test propositions to ensure validity.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be responsible for owning an increasingly sustainable product portfolio, differentiating tactics depending on the product project, and strategically shaping the division, including growing the team (currently 1) and working closely with senior stakeholders. A background in product management within construction, manufacturing, or building products is essential.
