Product Manager - Mortgages

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Full time - 35 hours

Contract: Permanent

Location: Hybrid Working (Head Office, West Bromwich)

The West Brom is seeking a skilled Product Manager to support the Head of Products in delivering the Society's mortgage plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall performance of our mortgage product ranges, ensuring they meet agreed plans across key performance metrics.

The role involves monitoring, managing, and recommending pricing changes to mortgage products, as well as researching and developing mortgage-related product opportunities. The Product Manager will work closely with a team of product analysts to ensure our mortgage products deliver good customer outcomes and meet our purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivering the Society's mortgage plans for new and existing customers.
  • Collate and analyse performance on individual product lines, new business, and total portfolio against agreed metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to ensure individual products/product lines deliver against agreed performance metrics and make recommendations to Committee.
  • Ensure products deliver good customer outcomes through the product lifecycle and are managed in line with associated frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of annual and 5-year lending plans.
  • Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the mortgage market and wider market considerations.
  • Act as spokesperson and industry expert for the Society on mortgages and participate in industry body meetings.
  • Produce weekly/monthly monitoring and performance reports for key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Detailed knowledge of the UK mortgage market.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to handle complex mathematical modelling, including pricing.
  • Clear understanding of relevant regulations and legal frameworks.
  • High level of competency across all Microsoft Office software, with Excel being a key focus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an influential negotiator.
  • Ability to communicate complex subject matters in a simple way to a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills.
  • Contribute to the department meeting the requirements of the Society's Risk Framework.
