Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Mentorship Role applicant to provide support to young people in care as an Independent Visitor. As an IV, you will be matched with a child or young person to build a positive and trusting relationship.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to provide a stable adult presence in a child's life.

About the Role

This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Service area: CYP Support and Safeguarding

Job reference:

You will engage in activities with a child or young person, providing a listening ear and a supportive presence. This role involves travel to visit the child or young person's home and attending activities on a 1-to-1 basis. You will be able to claim your mileage and expenses back after each visit.

Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.
