Hernshead Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Mechanical Build Technician to play a pivotal role in the research and development of bespoke classic vehicle conversions.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Build Technician to lead the build of client vehicles through to handover, while working closely with our engineering team to ensure accurate build records and compliance with quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meticulously strip vehicles of their legacy drivetrains and replace them with a drivetrain solution, including HV battery systems, e-motor, inverter, gearbox, power steering system, cooling, HVAC, and other systems.
- Develop work instructions and guidance materials for internal and external use.
- Collaborate with engineering on build specifications and design.
- Ensure team compliance with quality assurance processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 5 years' experience in leading niche/classic vehicle build, rebuild, or restoration.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
Desirable Skills:
- Metal fabrication, including sheet metal, welding, and machining.
- Classic car repair and maintenance.
- Automotive HVAC system installation.
