About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and delivering highway engineering projects, providing project management support and guidance to clients, other managers, and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highway infrastructure projects using appropriate project controls and software in accordance with Atkins Technical Assurance protocols.
  • Manage project relationships with clients, internal and external stakeholders, 3rd party suppliers, and delivery teams.
  • Generate and/or agree the scope of works and budgets with clients.
  • Produce and work to project schedules, establishing budgets and monitoring delivery against baseline using Earned Value Analysis and/or other techniques.
  • Implement effective change control, agreeing variations with clients.
  • Manage and monitor project risks along with problem-solving.
  • Ensure progress reporting both internally and externally, including financial reporting to the Highways Practice senior team.
  • Follow quality, safety, security, and environmental processes.
  • Use standard contract models as used in civil engineering projects (such as NEC 4).
  • Lead diverse delivery teams, creating an environment to motivate individuals and ensure effective teamwork.
  • Co-ordinate the technical services being provided by all parties.

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant Project Management Qualification/Accreditation such as APM/PRINCE 2 (essential).
  • Be a member of the Association of Project Managers (desirable).
  • Demonstrate experience of delivering engineering projects and have a good knowledge of engineering disciplines (essential).
  • Have a background in Highways planning/engineering/project delivery (desirable).
  • Have excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence others and manage stakeholders effectively (essential).
  • Have a track record of delivering schemes to time and budget using project management tools and methodology (essential).
  • Experience of using project scheduling tools such as P6 (desirable).
  • Have the ability and desire to build, coach, and develop multidisciplinary project delivery teams (essential).
  • Have awareness of the CDM Regulations and other legal and regulatory frameworks associated with highways projects in the UK (desirable).
  • Demonstrate experience of successfully operating within a target-driven environment with an ability to work under pressure (essential).
  • Evidence your ability to delight your clients/stakeholders (essential).
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a small, energetic, and enthusiastic team.
  • Be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience (essential).
  • Hold a degree in civil engineering (desirable).
