Job Summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a skilled Warehouse Agent to join our team. As a key member of our cargo handling team, you will be responsible for receiving and handling e-commerce parcels within our cargo warehouse, following established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle parcels through the parcel handling system, introducing them through the roller system and x-ray units.
  • Inspect cargo at the time of acceptance for signs of tampering, damage, or pilferage.
  • Report any irregularities to the management team.
  • Transfer freight from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas using a forklift or hand truck.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence.
  • Sort and store dangerous goods in the proper area.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute them to other locations.
  • Open gaylords and other containers for breakdown and record counts of items received or distributed when instructed to do so.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards and air waybill.
  • Perform cargo build-up and/or breakdown to and/or from skids, pallets, or ULDs.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and hazard-free of loose nets, straps, etc.
  • Practice all company safety policies, including wearing PPE, operating equipment safely, and obeying speed limits when driving company vehicles and equipment.
  • Screen cargo through physical search and X-ray screening.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Current driver's license with no violations over the past 5 years.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Availability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
  • Pass a driver's test with the Department of Airports and obtain a driver's license to drive on Airport Operational Area (AOA).
  • Pass an FBI background check and obtain a custom seal.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 pounds on a continuous basis.
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and a drug test.

Work is done both indoors and outdoors, sometimes with no AC or heating.

This individual will also work with disgruntled customers throughout the airport and must maintain a positive attitude when representing our company and communicating with customers within the airport.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with arms, climb or balance; and talk or hear.

Other tasks include lifting passenger bags up to 70lbs, which could also involve bending and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70lbs.
