We are seeking an experienced and creative Occupational Therapist to lead our Occupational Therapy and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Primary Teams in Tower Hamlets. The successful candidate will be part of a stimulating and vibrant MDT where new ideas and innovative practice are welcomed.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership within the Children's Community therapy team, responsible for the day-to-day operational, managerial, clinical, and Occupational Therapy professional delivery of the service.
- Lead the integrated Primary Team in line with service objectives, while continuing to have a clinical workload.
- Work closely with therapy staff and our wider partners in the borough to achieve service objectives.
- Experience of working with children in a community setting, including special or mainstream schools.
- Experience of using research and evidence-based practice to support families.
- Experience of working with children with a range of developmental difficulties and their families.
- Experience of working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds and home languages.
- Experience of audit, quality improvement, and service development, including developing protocols and guidelines.
- Experience of line managing colleagues and leading a team.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Experience of managing change and project management with multiple stakeholders.
- Involvement in research projects.
- Self-motivated and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent diplomacy, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
- Clinical skills across a range of developmental difficulties.
- Ability to work unsupervised, using initiative and own judgement when dealing with issues and problems.
- The ability to coach others to improve their practice.
- Digital literacy skills equivalent to Level 2 across all domains in the NHS Health and Care Digital Capabilities Framework.
- Qualified Occupational Therapist.
- Coaching qualification.
- Masters-level qualification (desirable).
