About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CBT High Intensity Therapist to join our team at Broadway Medical Centre. As a key member of our Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy to individuals with complex anxiety and depression-related problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions and make decisions on suitability of new referrals.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes for clients, using highly developed communication skills to understand their personal and sensitive difficulties.
  • Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with the service.
  • Undertake risk assessments with clients and respond to these in line with service policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with other members of the team to ensure appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
Requirements
  • Hold an honours degree classification 2:ii or above in a cognate mental health core profession, such as nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, or social work.
  • Have evidence of successful study at level 6 (or equivalent) within the preceding 5 years.
  • Meet the course entry requirements for the PgD Advanced Practice in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - High Intensity IAPT through Cumbria University.
