Job summary
We are looking for CBT High Intensity Therapist Trainee witha passion for providing excellent, professional and effective care whilstensuring our service users feel safe and respected.
This is a fully funded, salaried position and a trainingcontract will need to be in place.
You will need to be committed to complete the (12 month)course and work within the service for at least 2 years post qualification.

This role would be based at Broadway and The Mount View Practices and once qualified, some flexible home working could be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of an Improving Access toPsychological Therapies (IAPT) service and will provide high intensityCognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The post holder will be required tocomplete the PgD Advanced Practice in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - HighIntensity IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) through CumbriaUniversity. The course will start in January 2025. You will be required toalready meet the course entry requirements on application for this role. Thepost holder will work with clients who have a range of complex anxiety anddepression related problems and a LTC. The post holder will work with peoplewith different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessaryand should be committed to equal opportunities

We consist of 2 GP Partners and 4 Salaried GP's, 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses, MentalHealth workers and 2 Healthcare Assistants and a dedicated team of Administrativeprofessionals.
We are part of Fleetwood Primary Care Network and supportedby a fantastic team of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, CareCoordinators and Social Prescribers.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
Assess clients for suitability for psychologicalinterventions.
Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering tothe departments referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to therelevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes forclients.
Use highly developed communication skills in working withpeople to understand their personal and often very sensitive difficulties.
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for theassessment and treatment of clients in line with the service.
Undertake risk assessments with clients and respond to thesein line with service policies and procedures.
Educate and involve family members and others in treatmentas necessary, conveying CBT and other psychological formulations withsensitivity in easily understood language.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the numberof client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in orderto minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible andconvenient.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals orclients in treatment, where appropriate.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection withinthe service.
Keep coherent detailed records of all clinical activity inline with service protocols.
Work closely with other members of the team ensuringappropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain astepped care approach.
Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employmentinto the overall therapy process.
To participate in the planning and facilitation of groups asand when required by the service.
Carry out clinical audits of service performance, includingservice user surveys and evaluations, and help to collate and disseminate theresults for feedback.
Liaise with other health and social care staff from a rangeof agencies in the care provided to clients.
Provide specialist advice and consultation to otherprofessionals/individuals/groups/ committees across Mental Health Trusts,Primary Care Trusts and other voluntary agencies regarding service mattersrelated to the practice and delivery of specific agreed therapeutic modalitiesand service provision.
Contribute to the teaching and training of mental healthprofessionals and other staff working in the service.
To engage in regular clinical and case managementsupervision as agreed with Manager.
Undertake an NHSE approved IAPT LTC (Long Term Condition)training course (if not already completed).
Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according tothe employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies ( BPS,UKCP, BABCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by theDepartment of Health ( NHS plan, National Service Framework, NationalInstitute for Clinical Excellence).
Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at alltimes.
Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in thespheres of CBT and other psychological therapies.
Participate in individual performance review and respond toagreed objectives.
Keep up to date all records in relation to CPD and ensurepersonal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latesttheoretical and service delivery models/developments.
Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line withidentified professional objectives.
Participate in service improvement by highlighting issuesand implementing changes in practice.
Provide an advisory service on matters related to thepractice and delivery of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy toindividuals/groups/committees across the Primary Care Network and othervoluntary agencies.
Promote and maintain links with Talking Therapies and SecondaryCare Staff to help coordinate the provision of an effective IAPT service.

Qualifications
Essential
Applicants will be required to hold an honours degree classification 2ii or above in a cognate mental health core profession, such as nursing, psychology, occupational therapy or social work. For applicants who do not meet this requirement, non-standard entry criteria will apply via the KSA route (Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes).
