Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Neighbourhood Officer to join our client's team in Barnsley, Yorkshire and The Humber.

Salary: £48 per hour

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our client, providing a highly visible and proactive tenancy management service. As a Neighbourhood Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a range of tasks including void management, welcome visits to new tenants, and identifying customer vulnerability.

You will also work closely with the Lettings Service to assess applications to the Housing Waiting List and ensure the best use of housing stock.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering a highly effective and proactive tenancy management service
  • Dealing with or escalating all breaches of tenancy regulations in a timely manner
  • Managing day-to-day patch-based void management of properties
  • Providing welcome visits to new tenants within agreed timescales
  • Identifying customer vulnerability and safeguarding concerns
  • Working with the Lettings Service to assess applications to the Housing Waiting List
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ Level 3 / BTEC National Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience of social housing, including estate management and tenancy management or community safety related work
  • Ability to communicate with residents and colleagues effectively
  • Ability to understand community issues as well as current housing issues
  • A standard DBS
