Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

HS2 (High Speed Two) is seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance function, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis in leading an insightful reporting and analysis function that services the rest of finance.
About the Role- Build and maintain strong relationships with Heads of Finance and their teams based on trust and open communication.
- Enable robust decision-making through analysis, insight, and reporting, including financial transactions, such as accruals, journals, and reconciliations.
- Generate standard financial reporting to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely data and one version of the truth, including month-end reporting.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the business and cost drivers to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide analytical support to finance teams to facilitate directorate performance evaluation.
- Support the development of a financial strategy to enable successful achievement of objectives.
- Collaborate with other areas of HS2, such as HR MI team, Business Managers, and stakeholders to ensure a holistic view of the business.
- Provide specialist finance advice for complex financial issues or involve relevant specialists, such as Financial Accounting team.
- Understand and present information to develop financial insight, control costs, and develop risk management strategies.
- Strong communication skills to interpret and communicate complex financial issues to non-financial colleagues.
- Technical accounting skills, including knowledge of current IFRS and FReM understanding, and Government accounting requirements.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and use it to support decisions and recommendations within the business.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Ability to use ERP systems, data analytics software, and complex Excel models.
- Ability to develop and set clear timetables, guidance, templates, and communications for use by the business.
- Stakeholder management skills to engage, communicate, and develop consensus with internal and external stakeholders.
