Electronics Engineer Job Description

Leonardo is seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join our team as part of our 12-month Graduate Programme. As a Graduate Electronics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on real-time projects alongside leading scientists and engineers in a globally renowned company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of our world-leading electro-optical, communications, and information system products under the guidance of experienced Electronics Engineering Leads.
  • Interface with customers (internal and external) on various aspects of the design and liaise closely with Engineers from all other disciplines, including Mechanical, Software, Systems, Supportability, and Design Integrity.
  • Design, document, build, and test electronics circuits and firmware designs to go into our various systems.
  • Develop expertise in the design of circuits, FPGAs, and subsystems at various stages in the product lifecycle, including requirements capture, performance analysis, design, code, verification, validation, and support to integration and qualification.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in Electronics or a related field, with a strong understanding of digital design, analogue design, and signal processing.
  • Experience of using PCB design and simulation tools.
  • A passion for solving complex engineering problems and a drive to learn the skills required to become a professional Electronics Engineer.
  • Ability to work as a contributory engineering team member, undertake day-to-day engineering activities with some guidance and support, and manage own development towards attaining Electronics Engineer level through the Graduate Development Programme over 12 months.
