About the Role

We are seeking a senior charities lawyer to lead our Charities practice and manage our charities team. As a Legal Director or Partner at a similar firm, you will have a proven track record in the not-for-profit field and be experienced in providing advice on trading company start-ups, structuring charities, and incorporating charities or social enterprises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-class legal advice to a developed and established client base across England and Wales
  • Lead and manage our charities team, supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Contribute to new business attraction and service a very loyal client base
  • Handle Charity Commission, member, and trustee issues, as well as trading and income generation matters
  • Advise schools and on academy conversions and structures
Requirements
  • Substantial experience in acting for charities, schools, and other not-for-profit organisations
  • Strong business development skills and exemplary client relationship management skills
  • Drive and ambition, with a willingness to support others and a flexible team-focused approach
  • Ability to generate work from an existing client following
  • Strong academics and technical ability
