About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Charities Lawyer to lead our Charities practice and manage our charities team at Blake Morgan LLP. As a senior member of our team, you will play a key role in providing expert advice to our clients across England and Wales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead our Charities practice and manage our charities team
  • Provide first-class legal advice to a developed and established client base
  • Contribute to new business attraction and service a loyal client base
  • Manage and supervise a team of lawyers
  • Provide commercial and legal advice to trusts, companies, associations, and charitable organizations
  • Handle Charity Commission, member, and trustee issues
  • Advise on trading and income generation matters, including academy conversions and structures

Requirements

  • 10+ years PQE as a Legal Director or Partner at a similar firm
  • Proven track record in the not-for-profit field
  • Technical competence and excellent interpersonal and client development skills
  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Strong academics and technical ability
  • Substantial experience in acting for charities, schools, and other not-for-profit organizations
  • Strong business development skills and commitment to service excellence
  • Drive and ambition, with a willingness to support others and a flexible team-focused approach

About You

You will be a senior lawyer with a strong background in charity law and a proven track record of success in the not-for-profit sector. You will be comfortable dealing with complex legal issues and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
