Behaviour Support Assistant Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support a child in Year 5 with behavioural challenges and ADHD in a lovely primary school in the heart of Hackney.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide individual support to the pupil to help them engage with their education.
  2. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the pupil to participate.
  3. Foster a positive relationship with the pupil, promoting their well-being and building trust.
  4. Monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and relevant stakeholders.
  5. Collaborate with parents, external agencies, and the school community to ensure effective communication and support for the pupil.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience working with pupils who have challenging behaviour or have been excluded from mainstream schools is desirable.
  2. Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with pupils.
  3. Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with pupils facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
  4. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the pupils.
  5. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
