Job Role Overview

The Behaviour Mentor will provide individualised support to students with ASD and SEMH needs, promoting their well-being and encouraging positive behaviour. This role requires a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate closely with the class teacher and other professionals to develop tailored educational plans that meet the specific needs of each student.
  2. Implement effective teaching strategies and interventions to enhance the learning experience for students with SEMH.
  3. Provide individualised support to students, promoting their well-being and encouraging positive behaviour.
  4. Promote all students to improve behaviour through educational vices while also supporting and managing social and emotional needs.
  5. Help students feel accepted in their differences and channel new outlooks to feed an exceptional future.

Requirements

  1. Previous experience working as an LSA or youth mentor, ideally with a focus on ASD and SEMH.
  2. Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies and interventions, as well as a commitment to continuous professional development.
  3. Relevant qualifications and certifications in SEN support are desirable but not essential.
