Behaviour Support Assistant Opportunity in Camden

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary PRU in Camden. This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP for the full academic year, with the potential to become permanent upon review.

About the School

The school supports students from Camden secondary schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have been permanently excluded, allocated a place through SEN consultation, or via the Securing Education Board on a short-term placement. The school has a high staff-to-pupil ratio, ensuring each child receives the necessary support throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage behaviour and adhere to the school's behaviour policy
  • Support students in class, small groups, and one-on-one settings
  • Encourage and promote student engagement in learning activities
  • Contribute to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student
  • Collaborate with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies
  • Monitor and record student progress and achievements
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children who have SEMH needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Patience and resilience
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
