About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial guidance and advice to senior budget holders, ensuring they have a deep understanding of their business performance.
  • Manage corporate governance across cost centers, conducting deep dives and reviewing compliance with financial regulations to protect the business from legal or negative consequences.
  • Deliver expert business review information and reporting, highlighting significant issues with financial and other business results to inform decision-making.
  • Engage with senior team members to help them understand their financial position and use professional expertise to guide initiatives to improve business performance.
  • Build detailed plans to manage and develop business plans and budgets, ensuring good corporate governance and value-added analysis for senior leaders.
  • Identify and proactively manage commercial risks, including the financial suitability of new customers or suppliers, reducing the potential risk impact on the business area.
  • Manage the performance of central accounting functions to deliver efficiently and effectively for the cost center area.
  • Collate, investigate, and make recommendations for investment appraisals and business case analysis to aid business decisions.
  • Model and analyze cost bases, identifying opportunities and efficiencies to achieve area targets.
