Main Duties of the JobAs a staff nurse in cancer services, your role will be split between our Chemotherapy Unit and tumour site specific team. You will learn about each area's specialist services and gain specialist knowledge in the administration of chemotherapy.
You will work in our Chemotherapy Unit, taking part in the administration of SACT, and learn about cancer, specific treatments, and care. You will also spend time with other cancer specialist services, including Clinical Nurse Specialists, ANPs, the Palliative Care Team, and Acute Oncology Team.
The staff nurse is a member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing skilled care and advice to cancer patients and their families in the inpatient and outpatient setting. You will assist in the management and organisation of the nursing service in all clinical cancer areas when required.

Person SpecificationEssential Criteria
- Experience post-registration of oncology/haematology or a passion for the specialist field
- Demonstrates awareness of current changes in the NHS – in particular related to Nursing
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
Desirable Criteria
- Oncology course e.g. ENB 237 or Oncology/Haematology/Palliative/Chemotherapy course module or degree or diploma in relevant speciality
