The Sir John Fisher Foundation is a grant-making charity that invests in organizations serving needs and growing ambitions in the local community around Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria.
We are seeking experienced professionals to join our board as trustees, with one member having expertise in investment and willing to participate in the Investment Committee.
This opportunity allows you to make a significant impact by influencing how grant funding is allocated in the local community.
As a trustee of The Sir John Fisher Foundation, you will work closely with other trustees to set our strategic direction, oversee the effective management of the charity, and participate in grant-making decisions.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to planning and implementing the Foundation's strategy
- Oversee the financial sustainability of the charity to fund grant-making programs, including investments in James Fisher & Sons
- Support the Foundation's staff team with general management tasks
- Ensure the charity meets its legal obligations as outlined by the Charity Commission
**Salary:** £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
