About the Role

Church Road Surgery is seeking an experienced and skilled Medical Secretary to join our administration team. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide high-level administrative support to our clinical and management teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to our clinical and management teams, including typing of letters, actioning direct requests for reports, and dealing with patient-related documentation.
  • Attend and take minutes at practice, safeguarding, and MDT meetings.
  • Action referrals requested by the clinical team and book appointments with secondary care as required.
  • Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patient healthcare records.
  • Manage telephone enquiries and action incoming emails as appropriate.
  • Liaise with PCSE in relation to registration queries.
  • Support all clinical and admin staff with general tasks as requested.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with experience of administrative duties, particularly in a Primary Care or Healthcare setting. You should have problem-solving and analytical skills, be able to follow policy and procedure, and possess personal qualities such as politeness, confidence, flexibility, and motivation.

Requirements

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Secretarial qualification or experience.
  • IT qualifications in word and excel.

Desirable

  • NVQ level business and administration.
  • Experience of using e-rs (choose and book system).
