Job Title: Autism Support Specialist

Location: Thistle Service – Maryhill, Glasgow

Salary: £12.00 - £12.75 per hour / £23,088 - £24,536 pro rata

Sleepover rate: £96

Job Type: Full Time & Part Time positions available

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join our team at Thistle Service in Maryhill, Glasgow. As an Autism Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with autism to live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop personalised support plans for the supported individuals in Thistle
  • Build positive relationships with the supported individuals, their families, healthcare professionals, and social care managers to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support
  • Communicate with supported individuals in their preferred communication styles and methods, enabling them to make choices and give input to the shape of their service
  • Support with personal care and daily living tasks
  • Support the individuals to access and engage in their local community and to take part in activities of their choice during outings using the Thistle centre as a base
  • Record any relevant information about the day-to-day support of our individuals on our digital care planning system
  • Support with daily or as required medication
  • Risk assess activities and outings to provide safe & fun experiences for supported people

Requirements:

  • Good observation skills and resilience in nature
  • Full UK driving license and ability to drive a manual vehicle
  • Experience of working within social care is desirable but not essential
