Job Description: Operating Department Professional

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Operating Department Professional to join our Theatre team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in anaesthetic care and be able to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will possess good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients. You will have a broad understanding of current healthcare issues, including equality and diversity, clinical governance, infection control, and clinical supervision.

This role offers a competitive salary of £38,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a key member of our team, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including employer and employee contributory pension scheme, 27 days annual leave, access to the cycle to work scheme, and flexible working opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • To assist clinicians during the administration and maintenance of anaesthesia.
  • To undertake scrubbing and circulating duties within a wide range of surgical specialities.
Requirements:
  • Possess RGN 1st level or HE Diploma Operating Department Practice (or equivalent).
  • Current NMC/HCPC Registration.
  • Anaesthetic qualification (RGN).
  • Evidence of relevant ongoing professional development.
