Job Title: Substance Misuse Recovery Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team at Tripod Partners. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with substance misuse to achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users, including asset mapping of community resources, to develop individual recovery plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and re/integrating into the community.
  • Provide screening, asset mapping, comprehensive assessments, recovery planning, and reviews of care to assigned groups of service users.
  • Research, design, and prepare subject matter and materials for groups/pods, ensuring they are engaging and effective in promoting recovery.
  • Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have taken place, to ensure continuous improvement and quality of service.

About You:

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of drug and alcohol issues, and experience of working within a related field. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to identify the specific needs of groups and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
  • Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behavior.
  • Experience of Motivational Interviewing and Psycho Social Interventions.
  • Ability to identify the specific needs of groups.
  • Understanding of evidence-based interventions in a group work setting.
  • Qualification in counselling, group-work, or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with psychological trauma.
  • Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative, prioritising accordingly.
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
