About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Logistics Gateway Specialist to join our team at Kuehne+Nagel. As a key member of our Air Logistics Commercial team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our partnership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure air freight costs and flights, book and process export shipments on an allocation or adhoc basis to strict deadlines.
  • Plan and monitor full utilisation of trucks from an import perspective.
  • Maintain quality standards in security, health and safety, and environmental aspects.
  • Ensure carrier contract retrieval into cost entry and add manual accruals as required.
  • Maximise gross profit on every shipment by ensuring correct profit share and sales quotation is linked on every shipment file.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to schedule changes, routing discrepancies, and missing shipment statuses.
  • Monitor and address discrepancies with carrier invoices, escalating as necessary.
  • Raise freight and additional charge invoices to our customers.
  • Serve as a key contact for the services within your scope.
  • Engage in regular communication with Customer Care Locations, other OCC departments, Kuehne + Nagel offices overseas, and suppliers, building strong relationships.
Requirements
  • Experience in either freight forwarding or transport planning, preferably with a focus on sea freight.
  • Experience in Import Operations is advantageous.
  • Experience in processing data and task-based work is advantageous.
  • Ability to understand and execute new processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office features, especially Excel.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, shipment types, and methods.
  • Very good time management skills with the ability to set priorities, fulfill critical tasks in time, and keep to deadlines.
