Job Title: Senior Photonics Engineer

We are working with a leading London based Computer Networking company who are working on the cutting edge of AI and Machine Learning technology with applications for increased productivity in Data Centres and HPCs.

The role will be hands-on, involving design, simulation, testing, and closely interfacing with fabrication and packaging teams and vendors. Key responsibilities include design and simulation of photonic components and system-level functionality and performance, working closely with the fabrication team and external manufacturing partners for component design, process integration, and performance monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of industrial experience in design and optimization of silicon/III-V photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits. Strong experience in photonic integrated circuits design CAD tools and proficiency with Python and other scripting languages is essential. Additionally, the candidate should be proficient with complex optoelectronic lab testing techniques and equipment, including high-speed detectors, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and precision positioning setups.
