About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Dementia Support Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with dementia and their carers, helping them to maintain their independence and improve their overall well-being.
  • Build relationships with local contacts, including health and care professionals, to promote Alzheimer's Society services and provide dementia support.
  • Develop networks and pathways with partner organisations to ensure seamless and consistent support for individuals affected by dementia.
  • Provide support face-to-face, by telephone, and online, using a range of communication methods to meet the diverse needs of our community.
About You

We are looking for someone who is fluent in south Asian languages, particularly Urdu, and has a good understanding of the South Asian community. You will be empathetic and non-judgmental in your approach, with a commitment to equal opportunity.

You will also have good communication skills, a sound knowledge of IT systems, and the ability to travel independently around North London. It is desirable that you have knowledge and experience of Adult and Children Safeguarding, Information Governance policies and procedures, and statutory laws such as the Mental Capacity Act.
