About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Dementia Support Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by dementia and their carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized advice, guidance, and support to people diagnosed with dementia and their carers.
  • Assist individuals in identifying their needs and developing strategies to maintain their independence and well-being.
  • Build relationships with local contacts, including health and care professionals, to promote Alzheimer's Society services and provide dementia support.
  • Develop networks and pathways with partner organizations to ensure seamless and consistent support for individuals affected by dementia.
  • Provide support face-to-face, by telephone, and online.
Requirements
  • Understanding of dementia and the needs of people affected by dementia.
  • Empathy and non-judgmental approach with a commitment to equal opportunity.
  • Good communication skills to meet the diverse needs of our community.
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems to record data, write reports, and communicate by email.
  • Understanding of client confidentiality and its application when representing client needs.
