Job Summary

Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist/Registered CBT Therapist/Psychotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced psychologist/therapist to join our team at the Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist psychological therapeutic input into our Addiction Plus services. This will involve working autonomously and making appropriate clinical decisions, as well as providing high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, and therapy across a range of clinical presentations.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To provide specialist psychological therapeutic input into Addiction Plus services
  • To work autonomously and make appropriate clinical decisions
  • To provide high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, and therapy across the range/severity of clinical presentations
  • To work in hubs across the city of Leeds
  • To contribute to multidisciplinary team working, working alongside colleagues across the partnership
  • To offer advice on service users' psychological care to colleagues and other relevant agencies, working within professional guidelines
  • To provide a key role in psychological aspects of service development in service areas of primary responsibility

Person Specification

Qualifications and Registration

Essential

  • Doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent prior to 1996) and HCPC registration; Or Postgraduate Diploma qualification in Cognitive and/or Behavioural Psychotherapy AND Accreditation with BABCP as a CBT therapist. With either a prior core profession or via KSA route. Or Masters or above in a psychotherapy and accredited as a psychotherapist with UKCP or BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council)

Knowledge/Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies used to treat the population of service users specified in the job summary
  • Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and the threat of physical abuse
