Job Summary

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Immunisation Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering the Department of Health School Aged Vaccination Programme across Calderdale.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and organise immunisation sessions in schools and community settings, ensuring the successful delivery of the programme.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to schools to achieve the programme's objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with NMC standards.
  • Assist with data collection and statistical information.

Person Specification

Essential

  • NMC Registered Nurse in a relevant field of practice.
  • Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor qualification or willingness to complete.

Desirable

  • Additional post-registration qualification relevant to the field of practice.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Role-specific training relevant to the specialty of the post.

Knowledge, Experience & Expertise

Essential

  • Knowledge and skill to plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Experience of working with patients from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and prioritise workload.
  • Knowledge and skill in infection prevention and control principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge and skill in safeguarding principles and procedures.
  • IT literacy and ability to use NHS systems.

Desirable

  • Clinical experience in the specialty of the post.
  • Skills in research and audit methodology and application of findings to practice.
  • Evidence of introducing change and innovation into nursing practice.
