Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Dynamics Structural Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce Submarines. As a key member of our Dynamics Group, you will be responsible for conducting structural assessments and analyses for various components within the steam raising plant, as well as on-board and shore-based plant support equipment and radioactive material transport containers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting linear, non-linear, and dynamic finite element analyses to assess the structural integrity of components.
  • Developing and implementing methodologies to assess components and define testing programmes to underwrite those methods.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and substantiate component designs, inform through-life management, and pursue regulatory approval for current class, in-build, and future class submarines.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to degree level, or with equivalent experience, in mechanical engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work effectively on multiple projects at the same time, as well as demonstrate interest in dynamic analysis and test.
