General Practice Assistant First Contact Clinician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practice Assistant First Contact to join our dynamic team at Burlington Primary Care. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in supporting our GPs and clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clinical support to GPs and clinicians, ensuring the smooth running of clinics and enabling them to focus on patient care.
- Take initial patient histories, perform basic observations, and assist with clinical procedures under the guidance of a clinician.
- Sort and prioritize clinical post, signpost to other healthcare professionals as needed, and extract information from clinical letters for coding and note-keeping.
- Arrange appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments for patients, and prepare patients for GP consultations.
- Perform basic clinical tasks, including dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, and phlebotomy, under the supervision of a clinician.
- Complete basic forms and core elements of some forms for GP approval and signing.
- Support GPs with immunisations, wound care, and other clinical tasks as needed.

Requirements:
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a GP practice or primary care setting

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic IT skills
