Job Title: Thermal-Hydraulic System Designer

We are seeking an experienced Digital Systems Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce plc. This role involves designing and developing thermal-hydraulic systems for submarine and shore-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop thermal-hydraulic systems for submarine and shore-based applications.
  • Perform performance analysis of fluid systems using commercial and in-house developed thermal-hydraulic codes.
  • Design substantiation and safety justification of process systems, including hazard identification (HAZOP).
  • Embed principles of inherent safety, hierarchy of controls, and simplification into designs.
  • Define operating procedures and component specifications.
  • Support submarine and facility design, build, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain in-service design justifications and respond to in-service events and queries.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Process/Fluid Systems, preferably in the Nuclear Sector.
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics/dynamics fundamental theory (CFD) and process engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The estimated salary for this position is £90,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
