About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Registered Nurse to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our ward team.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of care are given in relation to agreed standards, policies, and procedures of the Trust.
• Assist in evaluating new nursing procedures, research, and initiatives, and incorporate them into clinical practice where appropriate.
• Store and administer prescribed drugs safely in line with legal and Trust requirements.
• Act as a senior and coordinate the shift as required.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient problems, producing a written plan of care as required.
• Report, document, and evaluate accidents and unit incidents via Datix reporting, informing the manager and updating the health and safety register as appropriate.
• Participate in the development of clinical supervision within the ward.
• Participate in educating staff and be an NMC Supervisor and Assessor for student nurses.
• Autonomously request and carry out clinical investigations to aid and confirm diagnosis.
