As Skin Analytics embarks on an exciting phase of growth, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of Engineering and Technical Leadership to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead our technical efforts in revolutionising skin cancer diagnostics and improving patient outcomes.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Oversight: Oversee all technical aspects of our products, ensuring the use of best practices in development and deployment.
  • Get hands-on when needed (approx. 60/40 split of hands-on time).
  • Lead by example.
  • Own the technical roadmap for the company and ensure its implementation.
  • Architecture and Design: Lead the design and architecture of scalable, efficient, and secure systems. Ensure Regulatory compliance of our platforms.
  • Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and grow the teams of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of products.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Product, AI, Clinical, and Operations to ensure Skin Analytics offers the best service to its users.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our tech stack and engineering processes.
  • Working within a regulated environment: Experience with medical software development conforming to regulatory standards is advantageous.

Requirements:

  • Technical Requirements:
    • Proficient in Javascript, including frameworks such as React and Angular.
    • Extensive experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
    • Experience with data management and visualisation platforms (e.g. AWS QuickSight).
    • Experience with Relational and Document databases, CI/CD tools, Git, Linux Systems, Monitoring tools.
    • Experience with integrating with 3rd party solution providers.
  • Education: University degree or equivalent; bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills with a history of timely delivering complex projects.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile development methodologies.
